No Bad Memories - The Avalanches [CD]

The 2026 album is inspired by the simultaneously magical and insidious ways that advertising and name-brand technology wraps itself around our memories. It's an ambivalent ode to the nostalgic pull of commercial jingles and proprietary start-up sounds. The best things in life may be free, but childhood and corporate entertainment products are completely intertwined. The obsession with advertising and consumer technology informs the sonic make-up of the music as a source of raw material out of which the foundations of the tracks were built. 'No Bad Memories' includes features from Jamie xx, Karen O, Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza, Prentiss, and many more.
