From rock gods such as U2, Thin Lizzy and The Cranberries, right through to pop sensations like Westlife and Boyzone. Brilliant solo artists like Sinead O'Connor, Van Morrison, Damien Rice, Rory Gallagher and Christy Moore back catalogues continue to inspire listeners across the world, across numerous genres. Of course, Ireland has a rich ballad and folk heritage with the likes of Planxty, The Dubliners, The Wolf Tones, The Clancy Brothers and many more.

In the modern era, the likes of Hozier, The Script, Fontaines D.C., Inhaler, Kneecap and Snow Patrol continue to represent from all across the island of Ireland. We should also never forget the poetic brilliance of Sean MacGowan and The Pogues, whose music spawned across oceans, genres and age gaps. Not bad a for a small island on the western outskirts of Europe.
