Double bill of action adventures starring Gal Gadot as the eponymous DC Comics superheroine.
In 'Wonder Woman' (2017) young princess Diana (Gadot/Lilly Aspell) has been trained in the fighting ways of her fellow Amazon warriors on the island of Themyscira, despite the best wishes of her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) who sought to shield her from combat. As she begins to learn the true extent of her powers, Diana and her fellow Amazons are thrust into battle when American pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crash-lands just off the shores of Themyscira, pursued by the might of the Germany military. When Steve tells them about the First World War, raging across the world, Diana suspects the god of war Ares has returned and sets off to London with Steve to put an end to the bloodshed of the Great War.
In the sequel 'Wonder Woman 1984' (2020), set in 1984, Diana is working as an anthropologist at the Smithsonian Institute when she learns of a businessman, Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal), with the power to make wishes come true. While Diana uses Lord's Dreamstone to resurrect the spirit of Steve Trevor, archaeologist Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig), who envies her co-worker Diana, is transformed into the ferocious Cheetah, who joins forces with Lord to defeat Wonder Woman.
