Dr. Barry Mayfield (Leonard Nimoy) cannot accept the fact that Dr. Edmund Hiedeman (Will Geer) has invited a foreign heart specialist to the United States to participate with them in a vital research project that they had been working on. Hiedeman suffers from a serious heart ailment and when Mayfield performs an operation on him, he rigs it to kill Hiedeman within a few days. Nurse Sharon Martin (Anne Francis) is killed by Mayfield after she suspects the doctor of foul play.
