Animated prequel featuring the voice of Steve Carell.
Young Gru (Carell) is a fan of supervillain supergroup the Vicious 6 and hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. Together with his loyal Minions, he builds his first lair and experiments with weapons. He interviews to join the Vicious 6 but it goes badly and things get worse when he outsmarts them and finds himself their mortal enemy.
