Clint Eastwood directs this biographical action thriller starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller. Chris Kyle (Cooper) is renowned as the most talented and lethal sniper in U.S. military history with a record 160 kills to his name. When Kyle is sent to Iraq on a mission to protect his fellow Navy SEALs he finds that his flawless record and reputation precede him as he earns himself the nickname 'Legend' from his allies. After serving on four tours of duty, Kyle prepares to return home to his wife (Miller) and family but as he tries to adapt to suburban life he finds himself pining for war. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor (Cooper) and won for Best Sound Editing.
This Clint Eastwood movie, is based on the Chris Kyle book of the same name. The movie is split in two dealing with his time in Iraq war and dealing with PTSD on his return home. Just noted his home is taken from a American solider's point of view, turning complicated moral questions and mass-bloodshed of the war into a black and white view, without presenting the historical context. Still a good movie 7 out of 10
